Manufacturing shift start-up checklist
Verification of equipment, materials and staffing before starting the production shift. Completed in the field, with or without signal.
Shift start-up sets how the day begins on the plant floor. Equipment switched on without warming up, raw material that was not there, an operator assigned to a machine they are not certified for, or a fault from the previous shift that nobody passed on: any of these ends in a stoppage within the first hour, exactly when production should be finding its rhythm.
A start-up check gives structure to that critical moment: shift handover, equipment condition, materials, staffing and safety. Beyond avoiding false starts, it records that the shift began under the right conditions — which matters when there is an accident in the early hours, or when someone investigates why a line missed its target.
How to use it with CaptaLog
