Load check checklist
Check weight distribution, securing and transport conditions before the vehicle moves — do it at the dock, with or without signal.
The load check is what separates a normal trip from a rollover on Route 5. A load that is badly distributed or not lashed down shifts on the first bend or hard braking: at best it arrives damaged, at worst it destabilises the truck or falls onto another vehicle. Most of these incidents are prevented by a five-minute review before setting off.
The problem in the field is that whoever loads and whoever drives are often not the same person, and nobody records how the load left. When something falls or arrives damaged, there is no way to tell whether it was secured badly or came loose en route. The photo of the lashed load before departure is the evidence that protects both the driver and the company.
How to use it with CaptaLog
Copy this template to your account, adapt it to your load types, and whoever secures the load fills it in from their phone next to the vehicle, before it moves — even with no signal. Each check is stored with a photo of the stowage, declared weight and timestamp, ready to back up transport conformity.
