Safety equipment inspection checklist
Check the extinguisher, first aid kit, warning triangles and hi-vis vest before driving — the driver reviews it next to the vehicle, with or without signal.
The safety inspection is what makes the difference when something goes wrong on the road: the start of a fire, a breakdown on the hard shoulder at night, an injury. In transport, a discharged extinguisher, an expired first aid kit or missing warning triangles are not just a fine at a checkpoint — they are the difference between containing an emergency and being exposed in the middle of the highway.
The real problem is that this equipment “is there” until it is needed, and only then does anyone discover the extinguisher has no charge or the triangles are missing. Nobody checks them until the emergency or the inspection. A routine check records that the vehicle went out properly equipped and protects the driver when it genuinely matters.
How to use it with CaptaLog
Copy this template to your account, adapt it to your service and load type, and the driver completes it from their phone next to the vehicle before setting off — even with no signal. Each inspection is stored with a photo of the extinguisher or equipment, the number plate and a timestamp, ready to back up compliance in an inspection or after an incident.
