Post-trip inspection checklist
Check damage, wear, cleanliness and fuel when the vehicle returns — the driver records it on arrival, with or without signal.
The post-trip inspection is what tells you the condition the vehicle came back in before the next shift takes it. In transport, damage or a fault nobody records on return becomes the next driver’s problem — or an argument about who caused it. Checking on arrival closes the loop the pre-trip check opened.
The problem in the field is that the driver arrives tired, parks and leaves, without recording a new scratch, an odd noise or a kerbed tyre. When the damage surfaces, nobody knows which trip it came from. A post-trip check with photo and time makes clear how the vehicle arrived and protects the driver who handed it back in good condition.
How to use it with CaptaLog
Copy this template to your account, adapt it to your operation, and the driver completes it from their phone on arrival, next to the vehicle — even with no signal.
