The maintenance record is what turns a fleet into something manageable instead of a run of surprises. In transport, a vehicle with no maintenance history is a failure waiting to happen: the filter that was not changed, the brake that was let slide, the schedule nobody followed. Recorded preventive maintenance costs far less than a roadside breakdown or a seized engine.
The real problem is that maintenance often lives in the mechanic’s head or on loose sheets that get lost. When the vehicle changes driver, is sold or fails, nobody knows what was done to it or when. A record with odometer readings, parts and photos builds each machine’s history and lets you anticipate the next intervention before it becomes an emergency.
