Plant PPE verification checklist
Control of the use and condition of personal protective equipment on the plant floor. Completed in the field, with or without signal.
PPE verification on the plant floor seems obvious until you actually check: a respirator with a saturated filter, earplugs the operator stopped wearing because they were uncomfortable, a harness with cut webbing stashed in a corner. The PPE exists, but it does not protect — and that only comes to light when someone looks at it properly.
A PPE checklist forces you to review not just whether the worker is wearing it, but whether it is the right equipment for the risk at that station and whether it is still fit to protect. PPE issue and control are legally required, and after an accident the first thing the insurer and the labour authority ask for is the signed issue record. This check closes that gap and leaves evidence.
How to use it with CaptaLog
Copy the template to your account and the safety officer or supervisor completes it from their phone walking the plant, even with no signal. Every shortfall — damaged PPE, an expired filter, a worker without protection — becomes an assigned action, with a photo and a date, and there is a record of what was checked and for whom.
