Dispatch control checklist
Check the order, packaging, paperwork and load before the vehicle leaves — prevents dispatch errors and leaves a record in the field, with or without signal.
Dispatch control is the last barrier before an order goes out the door. An error here — one item short, a mistyped address, a parcel dispatched to the wrong customer — can no longer be corrected: it becomes rework, a wasted delivery run and an unhappy customer.
In operations with many daily dispatches, the problem is that verification is done by eye and without a record. When the customer reports a missing parcel, there is no way to tell whether it left the warehouse short or was lost en route. The photo of the stowed load and the signed count are the difference between arguing and proving.
