Manufacturing preventive maintenance checklist
Scheduled maintenance routines for production equipment and machinery. Completed in the field, with or without signal.
Preventive maintenance is what separates a plant that produces from one that fights fires. When maintenance only happens once the machine fails, the stoppages are long, expensive and always at the worst moment. A bearing that was not greased, a worn belt nobody replaced or a clogged filter end up stopping the whole line.
A scheduled maintenance routine sets out what to check on each machine, how often and under what safety conditions — starting with energy isolation (LOTO), which is where the serious maintenance accidents happen. It also builds a history per machine: what was worked on, which parts were replaced and when the next one is due, which lets you plan and demonstrate that the machine is maintained to standard.
How to use it with CaptaLog
Copy the template to your account and the maintenance technician completes it from their phone next to the equipment, even with no signal in the plant. Every finding — a leak, a part due for replacement, a hot spot — becomes an action with a photo and hour meter reading, and the record per machine is kept with date, parts and owner.
