Goods receipt checklist
Check quantities, condition and paperwork of incoming freight at the dock — photograph every discrepancy, with or without signal.
Goods receipt is the point where the warehouse takes responsibility for what comes in. If something arrives damaged, short or expired and it is not caught at the dock, claiming it back from the supplier afterwards is almost impossible: the responsibility has already passed to you.
The real pain is evidence. When the receiver signs the delivery note “in good faith” without counting or photographing, three missing parcels or a pallet of crushed product becomes your own loss. And with cold chain or dated products, a careless receipt is a food safety risk, not just a financial one.
How to use it with CaptaLog
Copy this template to your account, adapt it to your suppliers, and the receiver fills it in from their phone at the dock, while unloading — even with no signal in the warehouse. Every discrepancy is stored with photo, time and batch, and becomes an action to manage the return or the supplier claim.
