Building walkthrough checklist
Security round and verification of common areas. The concierge or supervisor completes it in the field while walking the building — with or without signal.
In building management, the security round is the first line of defence: it is when someone physically walks the building and spots what the cameras do not show — a blown emergency light, a blocked exit, an expired extinguisher, a leak just starting. The problem is not doing the round, it is proving it was done and that the findings reached whoever resolves them.
When the round is noted in a concierge logbook, the information stays there. The manager does not see it, the committee cannot audit it, and when an incident happens nobody can prove when the last check was. In a residential building, that record also protects management against complaints and under co-ownership legislation.
How to use it with CaptaLog
Copy this template to your account and adapt it to the areas of your building. The concierge or supervisor completes the round from their phone while walking — even in a basement with no signal. Every finding is stored with photo, time and location, and becomes an action assigned to an owner. Everything syncs on its own when the connection returns.
